“I don’t think there’s anything currently happening in Perth quite as exciting as Alan’s writing.”
About the poet:
Alan is an award-winning Jewish writer from Mandurah, the unceded country of the Binjareb Nation, and his poetry and prose have been featured in various publications including Cottonmouth and Westerly. He was the winner of the Karl Popper Philosophy Award, an inaugural editor of UWA’s creative writing journal Trove and a prose editor for American web journal Unlikely Stories. Alan was shortlisted for the T.A.G Hungerford Prize in 2018 and is currently a doctoral student at UWA.
Alan recorded the sound file you’ve just listened to for a lecture I’m giving later this year. When I was putting together my presentation, I thought that more people should have access to his recording, and he very generously let me share the file on my blog.
You can see Alan perform live on World Poetry Day @The Queens Building (Perth), Saturday, March 20 4.30-6pm.
